So I am at the airport waiting for my flight to arrive. It just got pushed back a little bit so that sucks. They also moved the terminal that I was flying out of.
While I was in SF for the last week, I wasn’t able to really have any fun until last night. I hadn’t gotten a rental car so I couldn’t really explore the area. Fortunately, one of my co-workers had rented a car and I was able to us it most of the week to grab lunch. There really isn’t a whole lot in the area of the new office that my work is opening up.
So last night Mike comes into town and had gotten a rental car. We went out and hit a TGI fridays and had some decent food. I had been feeding off of hotel room service for dinner for most of the week and it wasn’t too impressive. After eating we had a drink at the hotel bar and then headed off to our respective rooms.
Today was quite boring with me anticipating my impending return to what I feel is now my home. Washington really has its hooks in me at this point. Not the least of which that the woman that I love is there. :P
I have to say that I have both enjoyed and suffered while down in SF. The workload was tremendous but it was nice to have a break from the ordinary. I certainly won’t mind returning to my 7-4 shift that I usually am working now.
To speak of the hotel that I was in, the sofitel hotel, would be to put a stain on the trip. The stay at the hotel started out well enough but slowly slid into annoyance and pretense and a sense of lackluster service. As an example of this, the hotel room cost up to 365 dollars a night. However, when I returned to my room one night there was a used band-aid on the floor. When I reported this to the hotel they immediately cleaned it up and even wrote off that nights stay. This doesn’t however resolve the fact that it existed. I called my work and told the travel people about this and I hope they don’t use that hotel anymore.
As I was saying though it is time for me to go and relax. I cannot wait to get some sleep when I get on the plane. I have a shuttle van waiting for me when I arrive in Seattle so all is arranged.
