Old vanpool closed and I joined another one. This means a schedule change but that isn’t necessarily a bad thing. I am now working from 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. The van that I am riding in is more comfortable as well. The old van was a 7 person van and the new one is a 12 person van.
Traffic around here is about to get really messed up because they are closing lanes for construction all month. If that doesn’t detract from my commute too much I will be getting home around 5 p.m. with the new van. This is a 1/2 hour faster improvement over the last van pool. (more time to relax, yay!) One other thing to note is that the new van pool begins and ends in Federal Way. This means that it starts and ends in the town I live in. Before I was arriving at the end of the van pool and then waiting for another bus. Now I don’t have to do this.
I understand that there are going to be some changes coming up with my old department. They are going to be changing the people that were reporting to two departments into people who only report to one. This is annoying because if they had just offered that option to me back when I applied to IS I would have stayed. Not too annoying though, as I am very happy with my current position and have no intention of changing things.
The car is running a little rougher now, but I am going to save up and replace the motor in it so that isn’t a big deal.
Things to do while the weather is quasi-good:
photowalk
geocache
wash the car at some point
